After years of wishing for a better sewing studio and with the help of my family, I finally found it in Timperley Village. In Paul House I now have an office space on the first floor. I decided to decorate my space in a way I found inspiring and enjoyable to work in. I have lusted after beautiful creative offices on Pintrest for years, so this was a very exciting project for me. I for the most part kept the design idea quiet until it was finished, hoping to avoid the raised eyebrows when I mentioned fake grass as carpet. My husband a lover of the minimal thought id lost my mind when the artificial grass samples arrived in the post and I came home with a stack of wooden garden trellises. He changed his mind as soon as everything started coming together. I was working on a limited budget to decorate and move all my sewing equipment so everything was thought about carefully before it was bought.

Industrial, romantic meets interior gardens and afternoon tea with a little mad hatter for good measure.
I always loved the idea of having a space in an old sewing mill mixing the industrial with the romantic. I didn’t have the sewing mill or the brick walls but I could use a brick effect wallpaper. I also have this weird obsession with having fake grass inside, I’m not sure why but I love it! The reality is its quite expensive for the realistic type so I settled for a 4m by 1m strip for now. Add the garden ornaments, the wooden trellises with some of my many cake stands, vases and tea cups and I had a mad hatter garden party theme. I absolutely love it!
I wanted to create a space that was a pleasant surprise as a first impression, with an creative atmosphere to make the event of having your dresses altered or made feel special. I like to think I have achieved that… still wishing on the full grass carpet though.
