As part of my business launch I booked a stand at the Event City Wedding fair. I took one of the few remaining spots just two weeks before it opened, so I had a lot to organise in a short time frame. Once booked The organisers emailed an exhibitor manual along with example images of strong stand designs. They were just a phone call away and happy to help me with any questions I had, and I called… a lot! My only regret is that because I booked so late I missed the deadline to be in the show guide that was given out at the entrance.
I designed the stand layout by doing a mock-ups at home, Moving around the display and taking photographs until I had a staging I was pleased with. On the day I loved the result and It was exciting seeing my business name printed in bold above it. I suddenly felt very professional and proud. I was the only Bridal Alterations business at the show and I had a stand opposite the prosecco bar, which I was thrilled about until I realised I would staring at something I couldn’t have all day!
I had a great time at the show and met so many lovely Brides! I also made some great business contacts. I found there was a sense of community and the businesses I had chance to chat to were really helpful and offered me invaluable advice. Even if you don’t get chance to talk to other stands you can observe how they present their brands and gain inspiration.
There were some beautiful stands at the show I have lots of pictures on my Instagram. Here are just a few of my favourites…
The Love Bus Wedding Company- www.thelovebusweddingcompany.co.uk
Near my stand stood the most amazing bus I have ever seen, and I ran over to chat to the owner as soon as I had a chance. A pink ice-cream / candy bus called Dolly’s Delights! The owner of the company was lovely and I was allowed to take some great pictures. Believe me as soon as I can find a reason to I want to hire it!
Windsor Cake Studio- http://www.windsorcakestudiocheshire.co.uk/
The Ladies of Winsor cake studio were really friendly and won a best stand award. Their stand was beautifully laid out and really eye catching. Featuring a Stunning 3 tier cake as seen in the picture above. After a hard day at the fair I sat down and devoured the cake samples they gave me, they were all delicious! If you want to drool at more of their amazing creations visit their Instagram. www.instagram.com/windsorcakestudio
Nina Marika, Wedding Stylist www.ninamarika.co.uk
Sitting amongst the hectic hustle and bustle of the wedding fair was an idyllic corner stand, it radiated a quiet calming atmosphere that reminded me of a retro, wildflower forest styled wonderland. It was beautiful filled with tastefully placed finds. I found her stand inspiring as you will see if you visit my studio.
You can get more from exhibiting than just potential customers, it can be a great source for connections, inspirations and educating yourself on the wedding industry. I would recommend going for a visit.
